About this product

Shui Jin Gui (the "Golden Water Turtle") is a dark oolong from Niulan Gorge near Wuyi, with notes of smoke, rose and roasted nuts. The leaves are hand-picked on steep rocky terraces, preserving the rich flavour bouquet of this rare tea.

Shui Jin Gui, or the "Golden Water Turtle", is one of the oldest tea cultivars in the history of the Wuyi mountains. It is a dark oolong with a pronounced smoky aroma and the light minerality typical of rock teas from this region.

The bushes of this rare oolong grow on narrow rocky terraces along the cliffs, so the leaves are picked by hand, carefully and patiently. The taste carries notes of rose, peony, toasted bread, roasted nuts, biscuit, fresh lemon, grapefruit and strawberry.

The tea comes in a stand-up pouch made of kraft paper with a clear window and a convenient zip-lock closure that keeps the leaf aroma intact.
