GABA Black Pearl Oolong (China, Fujian)

GABA Black Pearl is a dark oolong from Fujian province in China, rolled into tight pearl-shaped balls in the Da Hong Pao tradition, but produced using the GABA method. Light roasting gives it a deep, enveloping aroma.

The taste combines cocoa and chocolate notes with light caramel sweetness, tobacco undertones, roasted nuts, and hints of coffee and plum. There's a noble astringency and a refreshing tang that adds playfulness to the cup.

It unfolds beautifully in hot water — the pearls slowly open, releasing their aroma gradually. A great choice for an unhurried evening tea session.
