Sheng Pu-erh Big Leaf from Yunde Lianzhan, 2014, cake, 400 g

This tea comes to us from Yunnan, from the Daxueshan mountains, located on the border of Lianzhan County, near the Lancang River (Mekong).

Daxueshan (Chinese for "big snow mountain") got its name because snow periodically falls on its peaks. It is the cradle of Lianzhan's big-leaf tea — ancient tea trees grow here at an altitude of 2,200–2,750 m above sea level among untouched forests, some of them over a thousand years old.

The raw material for this tea is usually used for Shu Pu-erh, but this time we deliberately let it ferment naturally — and made a Sheng for you.
