Erhai Lake is China's largest and highest mountain lake, sitting at about 1,900 m above sea level amid the scenic landscapes of Yunnan province. The name "Early Spring by Erhai Lake" is a poetic image rather than a literal claim about where the leaf was picked.
The leaf for this sheng pu-erh was picked in early spring 2018 on Nan Nuo Mountain, blending aged leaf from old tea trees near the Xiaguan factory with material from the Cha Shu Wang producer ("Master of Tea Trees"), known for quality aged leaf.
The flavour turned out bright and many-layered — the familiar pu-erh depth paired with the freshness of mountain tea.
