Sheng Pu-erh Haiwan 9948, 2015

Sheng Pu-erh Haiwan 9948 is a large-leaf tea picked from old tea trees in Yunnan province, 2015 harvest. It is produced by the Haiwan tea factory, known as "Old Comrade".

The stems are thick and sturdy, and the leaves are covered with silvery down. The liquor is golden and clear, with a rich flavor and a long, aromatic aftertaste.

The flavor bouquet includes notes of:

• wildflowers and fresh hay
• corn and pine needles
• scalded milk and caramel
• menthol, fresh lemon, banana and apple

This premium-grade pu-erh can be brewed right away or kept for aging — the flavor grows richer with time. It is sold in several weights, from a small sample to a full 357g cake.
