Gothenburg Sheng Puer, 2007, cake 400 g

This cake commemorates the first voyage of the restored Swedish East India Company ship "Gothenburg," which set sail for China in 2005. One of the stops along the route was the Chinese port of Guangzhou.

In 2008, as part of a cultural event, a tea company together with the Guangzhou and Kunming bureaus of cultural heritage released this puer to mark the Gothenburg's voyage. A limited batch of cakes was produced, each with a certificate and a unique number on the packaging.

The tea itself is well-aged, with woody-fruity aromas; after the fifth infusion green grape notes appear. It is bright and energetic — a powerful Sheng puer.
