Haiwan 9978 is a pressed shou (ripe) puerh from the Haiwan tea factory, created as an alternative to the well-known 7572 recipe. The formula dates back to 1999 and has remained under the factory's tea masters' control ever since.
The taste is deep and earthy-woody, with subtle fruity accents: dry wood, prune, amber, fruit, road dust, sweet potato, and buttercream. It brews into a dense, rich infusion well suited for everyday drinking.
Available in several weight formats — from small tasting portions to a full 357 g cake.
