Chen Pi citrus tea originates from Guangdong province in southern China, in the Xinhui region famed for its mandarin peel.
Preparing mandarin peel by the old method starts with sun-drying, after which it's aged for at least three years. The longer the peel is kept, the more valued the tea, as natural essential oils and aromatic compounds build up over time.
The cup opens with a soft natural fragrance and a bright citrus note: orange peel, woody-honey undertones, and hints of vanilla and caramel.
The dried mandarin peel can be added to your favorite tea for aroma or used to prepare fruit infusions.
