Roasted Tie Guan Yin Nong Xiang Premium, 50 g

Tie Guan Yin is a unique tea: it can be light or dark, and either way it's still Tie Guan Yin. Among Chinese teas, only Feng Huang Dan Cong shares this rare trait.

The correct name for the traditional roasted style is Tie Guan Yin Nong Xiang. Until the 1980s, this dark, charcoal-roasted style was the only version of Tie Guan Yin made in China. Later, influenced by Taiwanese teas, it began to "green up," and today most Tie Guan Yin sold is the light style ("Qing Xiang").

True connoisseurs know better: the classic roasted Tie Guan Yin Nong Xiang deserves a taste. Its flavor and aroma carry geranium, peony, campfire smoke, caramel, honey, prune, blackcurrant, and ripe papaya.
