Shou Pu-erh "Rose" is a single-serving mini tuo cha of dark pu-erh with rose petals, 5 g for one brewing. The leaf comes from Yunnan province, China.
Dark pu-erh with rose petals has a noble taste and a lovely aroma. The rose is a refined lady: she rounds out and softens the firm character of dark pu-erh. On paper the pairing shouldn't work — in the cup it turns out to be a fine duet of opposites.
One nugget, one brewing. Nothing to weigh or break off: drop it into a gaiwan or small teapot, pour boiling water over it, drain the first rinse — then several 10–20 second infusions.
