Shou Pu-erh "Gift of Spring" is a loose-leaf dark pu-erh from Yunnan province, China. This is a tea with potential: it keeps opening up over the years, so people buy it both to drink now and to put away in a tea collection.
The cup holds dozens of shades that sound surprisingly harmonious together: fruitiness, honey and woody notes.
Loose leaf is easy to measure with a spoon. The classic method is short infusions in a gaiwan or small teapot: a quick rinse with boiling water, then several steeps of 10–20 seconds. Pu-erh stands up to many infusions, and each one tastes a little different.
