Lapsang Souchong, or Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong — «small bushes from Mount Zheng» — is a classic Chinese black tea from Fujian province.
The leaf is smoked over spruce roots, which gives it the resinous pine aroma this tea is recognised by from the first sip.
The cup brings pine needles and dry wood, toasted bread, almond, honey, citrus zest and fresh lemon. It was Winston Churchill's favourite tea.
