Dian Hong Zhutong is a black tea pressed into tablets. All 20 tablets of 10 grams each are carefully wrapped in a bamboo leaf and tied tightly with cord.
The raw material is high-mountain Dian Hong from Fengqing county — the homeland of the tastiest, honey-sweet, slightly astringent black teas.
Each tablet contains 160–170 mg of caffeine (as much as 2 cups of coffee). Half a tablet is enough for one serving, so a Zhutong lasts for 40 tea sessions.
