Anhua Hei Cha Mini Qian Liang Dark Tea 2015, 3.625 kg

Anhua Hei Cha Mini Qian Liang, 2015, is a compressed dark tea from Hunan province. This is the type of tea China itself calls black — hei cha — the leaf goes through a distinct fermentation, like Liu Bao Cha or shou pu-erh.

What we usually call black tea is red tea in China. Hei cha is therefore its own category with its own character: densely compressed material, an aged profile and a deep infusion.

Format

A mini version of the classic compressed Qian Liang. Total weight 3.625 kg. Stored in a kraft paper stand-up pouch with a clear window and a zip-lock seal.

How to brew

• Separate 5–7 g from the compressed tea.
• Rinse with boiling water and discard the first pour.
• Brew at 95–100 °C, starting with short infusions.
