This is not simply tea but true tea flour — cháfěn in Chinese. Made in the Song dynasty style, it lets you taste the drink exactly as it was taken a thousand years ago: the leaf ground to powder, whisked in a bowl and drunk whole.
The taste is distinctive: gentle sweet notes and a distant honey aroma. The cup carries linden, baked milk, caramel, vanilla and peach.
Preparing this tea is a ritual in itself: sift the powder into a bowl, add hot water and whisk to a thick foam. The result is dense, with a soft sweet base.
