Black Rose is a Chinese black tea with rose petals. The petals carry aromatic essential oils, so the cup smells of flowers with no added flavourings at all.
Rose was first blended with black tea in China during the Ming dynasty (1368–1644): tea masters experimented with flowers, and the unusual pairing won over the Chinese nobility. Rose tea has been part of tea culture ever since.
