Moragalla Ceylon Oolong

Moragalla Ceylon Oolong is a rare gem from Sri Lanka, grown on one of the island's oldest estates in the Galle district, founded back in 1870. The oolong grows at low altitude (40-60 m) near the ocean, where salty sea breezes give the soil and leaves a distinctive mineral character.

This tea is oxidized more than classic light oolongs, bringing it closer to black tea in richness while keeping the finesse of an oolong. The leaves are hand-rolled, dark and oily.

The deep copper-gold liquor has a dense texture and a complex aroma of roasted nuts, salt and light sea freshness. The taste is enveloping and malty, with caramel sweetness and an iodine note leading into a long finish with hints of dried apricot and nutmeg.

How to brew

• Water temperature: 90-95°C
• Steeping time: 3-4 minutes
• Can be re-steeped 2-3 times

The tea comes in a craft-paper doypack pouch with a clear window and a zip-lock closure.
