Dong Fang Mei Ren, known as Oriental Beauty, is a Taiwanese oolong made by a distinctive method: the tea leaves are deliberately left for leafhoppers to bite. The reaction between the leaf's enzymes and the insects' saliva gives the tea pronounced notes of honey, fruit and flower pollen.
The taste and aroma carry lilac, buttercream, honey, biscuit, pepper, raisin, raspberry, blueberry and apple.
