Guayusa Herbal Tea

Guayusa is a herbal infusion made from the leaves of Ilex guayusa, also known as Wayusa, a holly tree native to Ecuador. It is related to Yerba Mate and Kudin.

The taste of guayusa is pleasant and slightly sweet, with a light nutty note and no bitterness. The aroma is subtle, reminiscent of linden blossom.

Thanks to its natural caffeine and theobromine content, the drink provides gentle energy, similar to green tea.

In Ecuador, guayusa is traditionally brewed by local communities, and today the drink is enjoyed well beyond South America.
