Peppermint Herbal Tea (Mentha Piperita)

Peppermint (Mentha piperita) is also known as English mint or cold mint.

China and Japan are considered the homeland of peppermint, though mentions of mint appear in Egyptian tombs dated to 1200–600 BC.

The ancient Greeks believed every forest stream and meadow had its own deity, one of them being Mentha.

This old cultivated plant has long been grown in gardens and flower beds, though its wild form is now almost impossible to find in nature.

Modern peppermint was bred by the English in the 17th century by crossing two wild mint forms — water mint and spearmint.
