Assam is a classic whole-leaf black tea. It is grown in north-east India, in the province of Assam, one of the best-known tea regions in the world.
The aroma is distinctive — spicy, slightly floral, with honeyed notes unusual for a black tea. The cup carries meadow flowers, bark, fallen leaves, malt, caramel, honey, pepper and a light grapefruit edge.
