Hotei Tea Pet — Buddha of Abundance

The Buddha of Abundance tea pet is a Hotei figurine that lives on the tea tray beside your teapot and takes the first rinses of the brew. His warm, infectious smile greets every guest and makes the tea table feel welcoming.

Two textures are combined here: Hotei's bare body is made of matte, pleasant-to-touch clay, while his lavish robe is covered in a glossy green celadon glaze with a fine web of tiny cracks — the crackle effect. In one hand the Buddha holds a traditional gold ingot; with the other he waves cheerfully.

How to use

• Place the figurine on the tea tray next to the teapot.
• Pour leftover hot infusion over it during your tea session.
• Do not wash with detergents — over time the clay takes on patina and the aroma of tea.
