The brown Japanese "Shell" vase stands 11 cm tall and 13 cm wide, adding a touch of refinement to any interior.
The history of these vases is closely tied to the history of chado: in this context chabana emerged alongside the development of wabi during the Momoyama period.
The vase is used for chabana, the flower arrangement used in the tea ceremony. In the history of ikebana, the nageire style was added to the more formal rikka arrangement around the late 1600s, bringing fewer rules and a more natural look.
