Four Seas Artisan Tea Cup, Ceramic, 100 ml

Four Seas is a literary name for China: four bodies of water that figuratively mark the borders of the ancient country. The Western Sea is Lake Qinghai, the Eastern is the East China Sea, the Northern is Lake Baikal, and the Southern is the South China Sea. The lands "within the four seas" appear often in Chinese literature and poetry.

This cup is the work of master Chan Yu, finished in his own Sakura glaze: soft pink tones fading into white with golden flecks.
